SKILLS & DRILLS Individual & Team Skills Competition: As part of the Opening Ceremonies each week a Team Skills Challenge is presented on the Championship Field with all of the teams and their families in attendance. Each team has representatives in the three separate skills challenges (Queen of Swat, Break the Tape, Gunner) with the best score in each group receiving trophies. The challenge events are highlighted by each team participating in a team ''Round The Horn'' competition. These events are low pressure and fun activities and are a great introductory program. Diamond Dreams Practice Area: Our practice area is designed to meet the needs of all teams staying at Diamond Dreams. Eight (8) batting cages are located near Softball Village and are lighted for late night swing sessions. Two skinned infield areas are available for taking ground balls and working infield throws and picks. Our 200 ft ''Outfield Lane'' allows fungo work for your fielders and bases are set at the appropriate distances. Diamond Dreams Trail Course: Coming in 2011 Our 1/2 mile course will challenge the physical fitness of all participants. The challenge stations along the course have been carefully selected. The course activities should be completed with team members. Teams are free to use the Trail Course during specific hours as outlined by the Park Director. |
